Soft rock band Train delivers catchy country song “Drive By” just in time for the changing season as you’ll be singing this song all summer long. “Drive By” is that windows down, sand between your toes, legs sticking to your seat kind of summer anthem that the “Hey Soul Sister” band thrives off of. The single is the trio’s second song off their new album, which was released in January and has steadily gained popularity on the radio. “Drive By” peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 with a music video appropriately released on Valentine’s Day through YouTube. The song was inspired by an old girlfriend who a band member could never say goodbye to.
The music video features the band chasing said girlfriend throughout California in a Firebird claiming that their relationship was never “just a drive by.” Train’s sixth studio album “California 37” has done well for the band that formed in 1994 with past hits that include “Calling All Angels,” “Drops of Jupiter” and “Meet Virginia.” The band has gone through some shake ups but prevails as an accomplished Grammy-winning group. Although “Drive By” will probably never see the success of the band’s 2010 smash hit, “Hey Soul Sister,” it holds it’s own as a nice story of not giving up on love.
